How PDF Merge Works

FileStudio parses the cross-reference tables of each document, extracts content streams and font dictionaries, and writes them into a unified PDF structure using pdf-lib. Unlike image-based tools, this preserves 100% of original vector clarity and text selectability.

1Drop PDFs

Select multiple documents in any initial order.

2Sequence Files

Drag rows to adjust document positioning.

3Select Pages

Optionally filter specific pages from each file.

4Lossless Merge

Generate unified PDF binary instantly in RAM.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many PDFs can I merge simultaneously?
There is no arbitrary limit. You can combine dozens of documents. Because processing occurs client-side in RAM, efficiency depends on your device memory.
Does merging reduce document resolution?
No. Merging copies raw PDF streams directly into the target document without rasterizing or re-compressing images. Vector text and original graphics remain pixel-perfect.
Can I exclude specific pages before merging?
Yes. Click “Pages” next to any file in the list to reveal thumbnail grids where you can toggle individual pages on or off.
